DANGEROUS
49 CFR §172.504(b) & Table 2A single "DANGEROUS" placard may substitute for two or more Table 2 placards when the load carries at least two different hazard classes AND less than 5,000 lb aggregate gross weight of any one class from one facility.
When to use
- Two or more Table 2 hazard classes are in the load.
- Aggregate gross weight of any single Table 2 class from a single loading facility is < 5,000 lb.
- None of the materials on board is on Table 1 (Table 1 always placards individually, any quantity).
When not to use
- Any material in the load is on Table 1 (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.3, 4.3, 5.2 Type B, 6.1 PG I Zone A, or 7 Yellow-III).
- Any single Table 2 class exceeds 5,000 lb from one facility — that class needs its own placard.
- The load contains only one Table 2 class (use that class placard instead).
